In the occasion of the last Meeting of the American AHC Families, held in Raleigh N.C. - USA on 22 - 24 July 2011 and organized by the American Foundation for Alternating Hemiplegia AHCF www.ahckids.org, a report about the activities of A.I.S.EA was presented, with the aim to promote a better sharing of the information and the collaboration for the development of the research on AHC at the international level.
The report was presented by the two  European patient representatives that participated to the meeting, Dominique Poncelin, president of the French Association AFHA www.afha.org, and Siggi Johanneson, president of the Icelandic Association AHCAI www.ahc.is.
All the activities that A.I.S.EA has been carrying out in these years, are aimed to the pursuing of the objectives listed in its statute and that can be grouped in two main goals.


SUPPORT TO THE FAMILIES
That's to say, promoting a better  quality of life for the persons affected by AHC and for their families, through the development of a qualified health and social care, of the autonomy and of the social integration.
This is a short-medium term objective.

SUPPORT TO THE RESEARCH
That's to say, promoting and funding the research of the causes of AHC and of an effetive treatment.
This is obviously a longer term objective.

Both these objectives are important for the families and must be equally pursued, through specific activities and initiatives carried out in parallel.
Therefore the Report of the activities of A.I.S.EA has been split into two parts.
The first part (3,5 MB) describes the activities aiming to support the families.
 

The second part (1,5 MB) is about the support to the research.

In occasione dell'ultimo Meeting Nazionale delle Famiglie A.I.S.EA, svoltosi a Roma nei giorni 24 e 25 Marzo 2011, è stato presentato il resoconto annuale delle attività correnti dell'associazione.
Tutte le attività di A.I.S.EA sono finalizzate al raggiungimento degli obiettivi statutari, i quali si possono raggruppare in due obiettivi principali.

SOSTEGNO ALLE FAMIGLIE
Vale a dire, promuovere una migliore qualità di vita per le persone affette da Emiplegia Alternante e delle loro famiglie, attraverso lo sviluppo di una assistenza socio-sanitaria qualificata ed adeguata, dell'autonomia e dell'integrazione sociale.
Si tratta di un obiettivo a breve-medio termine.

SOSTEGNO ALLA RICERCA
Vale a dire promozione e finanziamento della ricerca delle cause dell'Emipegia Alternante e di una cura efficace.
Si tratta ovviamente di un obiettivo più a lungo termine.

Entrambi questi obiettivi sono importanti per le famiglie ed entrambi vanno ugualmente perseguiti, attraverso attività ed iniziative specifiche da portare avanti in parallelo.
Il Resoconto delle attività di A.I.S.EA è pertanto suddiviso in due parti.
La prima parte (3,5 MB) descrive le attività finalizzate al sostegno alle famiglie.

La seconda parte (1,5 MB) riguarda il sostegno alla ricerca.

"CAMMINANDO ... passeggiando"

Una splendida testimonianza di come un approccio attento e professionale abbia potuto incrementare l'autonomia motoria e psicologica di uno dei nostri ragazzi.
Una fonte di ispirazione anche per altri operatori, in ambito educativo, riabilitativo ed assistenziale, che abbiano in carico bambini e ragazzi colpiti dall'Emiplegia Alternante.
